The LIU High School Scholars Program provides academically talented high school students with the opportunity to get a head start on their college education by taking university-level courses in the comfort of their high school classroom and enables qualified high school juniors and seniors to earn college credit at a significantly discounted rate. The credits can then be applied to LIU Post and/or transferred to other eligible universities, which helps students to save on college tuition. In many instances, some students can reduce their college education studies and expenses by one year. LIU High School Scholars courses carry dual credit – high school units applicable toward the high school diploma and college credits applicable toward a bachelor’s degree.
Each year more than 4,000 motivated high school students across Long Island participate in the LIU High School Scholars Program, formerly the SCALE/ACE Programs. These programs have worked with area high schools for many years and today offer more than 35 courses in 20 academic departments through select secondary schools in the New York metro area. LIU High School Scholars students can begin college with courses in business, English, mathematics, and a host of other subject areas.
The LIU High School Scholars Program can help pave the way for a successful and rewarding college experience.
